Henrik Berg scored two goals and
Alex Dyson added another as the Seton Hill University men's soccer team scored a 3-0 victory over Urbana University (Ohio) in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.
The Griffins improve to 3-2-1 on the year while Urbana evens their record at 3-3 overall.
Freshman forward
Henrik Berg (Aasa, Sweden) scored two goals less than a minute apart, netting one in the 14th minute off of a corner kick and then another on a deflected shot from outside of the box. The Griffins would carry their 2-0 lead until the 68th minute when
Alex Dyson scored his third goal of the season in the form of a quick strike off of a
Brendon Mendelson assist at the top of the box.Â
For the match, Urbana thoroughly outshot Seton Hill, 15-8 (6-3 on goal). Urbana also held a 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Austin Iddon tallied his third shutout of the season while grabbing six saves. Iddon currently ranks in the top 100 NCAA Division II goalkeepers in Goals Against Average (100th), Save Percentage (71st), Saves Per Game (63rd), and Total Saves (55th). Urbana's Daniel McNicholas picked up the loss, spending 85 minutes in goal for the Blue Knights and surrending all three SHU goals.
The Griffins travel to Millersville, Pa. on Friday, September 22nd to take on Millersville University in a PSAC tilt scheduled for 5:30 PM.
