Men's Soccer Upended By Salem, 1-0

GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Seton Hill University men's soccer team fell to Salem International University, 1-0, in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.

The Griffins slip to 2-2-1 overall while Salem International improves to 5-1 on the year.

The two teams battled back and forth throughout the game, but it was a goal in the 55th minute of the game by SIU's Federico Toschi that proved to be the deciding goal for the visitors from Salem, WV. Seton Hill would make a late push, but it wasn't enough as the Tigers escaped Dick's Sporting Goods Field with the 1-0 win.

For that match, Salem held an 11-8 advantage in total shots (7-2 on goal). Seton Hill had five corner kicks compared to three for Salem. The two teams combined for 33 fouls in a match that included 10 yellow card and one red card. Austin Iddon got the loss, giving up the one goal while saving six. Dominic Gillespie finished the game with two saves for SIU.

Seton Hill welcome Urbana University out the Mountain East Conference into Dick's Sporting Goods Field on Tuesday, September 19th. That match is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
