Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Neill Makes Nine Saves, LoPresti Nets Game Winner over IUP

Seton Hill continued PSAC play on Wednesday afternoon as they hosted Indiana (PA) at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.  Jessica Neill was spectacular in net and Emily LoPresti scored the game winner as the Griffins defeated the Crimson Hawks by a 1-0 score.  SHU is now 4-1 overall and 2-1 in PSAC action while IUP falls to 3-3 overall and 2-3 in PSAC play.

There was not much action in the first half as the teams combined for just seven shots over the game's first 45 minutes.  Both Neill and IUP keeper Mackenzie Witzel each made 3 saves in the half.  The Griffins best chance in the first half was off a corner kick when Madison Schwerzler's header was knocked over the cross bar by WItzel.

Two big saves by Neill over a two minute stretch early in the second half kept the game scoreless.  The Griffins were finally able to get on the scoreboard in the 70th minute.  Katie Kimmich dribbled down the right side of the pitch and got a shot off that Witzel was able to stop but just deflected it to the top of the box where LoPresti found the ball and put it into the upper right corner of the net for her fifth goal of the season.  Neill made three more saves over the final twenty minutes to preserve the shutout.

Neill finished the contest with 9 saves for her third shutout of the season.  LoPresti's fifth goal of the season was her fourth game winner.

The Griffins will host Mansfield on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM for Senior Day.  Four Griffin seniors will be honored.
