Strong Second Half Sends SHU To G-MAC Title Game

Box Score ERIE, Pa. - John Hofseth and Jack Moran combined to score 10 goals and the Seton Hill University men's lacrosse team defeated Lake Erie College in their Great Midwest Athletic Conference semi-final game. The Griffins (11-4, 4-2 G-MAC) march on to play Mercyhurst University in the inaugural G-MAC Championship game on Saturday afternoon in Erie. 

John Hofseth scored six goals and added two assists to lead a Griffin offense that outpaced Lake Erie, 11-2, in the second half. Jack Moran had four goals and three assists, and Bennett Johnson added two goals and three assists. Adam Reimer, Collin Mitchell, Shane Pettke, Ryan Manbeck, and John Miller all had goals in the victory.

Max Eismann grabbed eight saves while allowing just five goals. Dix had nine saves in the loss.

For the game, Seton Hill dinged the Lake Erie goal for 42 shots while Lake Erie had only 17. Lake Erie committed 17 turnovers compared to 14 for Seton Hill. The Storm won the faceoff battle, 15-11. In extra man opportunities,the Griffins were 4-for-8 while the Storm were 0-for-3.

Seton Hill will take on Mercyhurst in the first Great Midwest Athletic Conference men's lacrosse championship on Saturday at Tullio Field at 1:00 PM. The two teams met in the regular season on March 25th in Greensburg with Mercyhurst coming out on top, 11-7.
