The Griffins rode the arm of Amanda Huff and the bats of Ashley Perillo and Abbey Suhoski to a 5-0 game one win but the Rock responded with a 5-0 win in game two of the day to split the doubleheader.  SHU is now 16-21 overall and 8-6 in PSAC West action.  The Griffins are a game behind second place and sit in third while Slippery Rock is fourth with a 7-9 record.  The top three teams in the west make the PSAC Tournament.

Seton Hill did not waste much time in game one as they jumped on the Rock starter for four runs in the first inning, knocking her out of the contest.  Victoria Stock walked to lead off the game and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from Brooke BowerAshley Perillo followed with an RBI double giving SHU the early 1-0 lead.  Abbey Suhoski then stepped to the plate and homered to center field to push the Griffins lead to 3-0.  Paige Hertzog then reached on an error and scored when Huff singled to center field.

Perillo homered to lead off the third inning and extend the Griffins lead to 5-0.  The Rock got their first two runners on in the third but Huff got three straight outs to end the threat.  SHU scored their final two runs in the fifth inning.  Chelsea Rohan, Danelle Locke and Stock walked to load the bases.  Bower was hit by a pitch to force in a run and pinch runner Ashley Boehm scored on a wild pitch giving the Griffins a 7-0 lead.

Huff earned her 11th win of the season with a complete game shutout.  She gave up six hits while striking out six.  Amanda now has a scoreless streak of 17 innings in the circle.  Perillo and Suhoski each had two hits including a homer and drove in two runs.

The Rock loaded the bases with one out in game two but a fielders choice and foul out ended the Rock's inning.  Slippery Rock was able to crack the scoreboard in the second inning when they scored four times on four hits.  The Rock added an insurance run in the fifth inning to increase their lead to 5-0.

Perillo was 3-3 in the second game.

The Griffins return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Edinboro to finish their suspended game and play game two of their doubleheader.
