Seton Hill met IUP in a PSAC crossover matchup on Monday afternoon in Greensburg. IUP took game one by the score of 7-3. The Crimson Hawks completed the sweep with a 5-4 win in game two. SHU drops to 14-19 overall.
IUP finally broke thru on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning. The Crimson Hawks took advantage of two Griffin errors in route to scoring three runs to take a 3-0 lead. IUP added three more runs in the top of the fifth to push their lead to 6-0. The Crimson Hawks added an insurance run in the top of the sixth to extend their lead to 7-0.
Seton Hill scored three times in the bottom of the sixth.
Brooke Bower singled to lead off the inning.
Ashley Perillo then drew a walk.
Abbey Suhoski then singled to drive in a run. After an out at the plate on a bunt single,
Paige Hertzog singled to load the bases. After a fly out,
Allie Harvey singled in two to cut the lead to 7-3.
Suhoski led the Griffins with two hits in the game.
IUP scored two unearned runs in the top of the first of game two to take an early 2-0 lead. Back to back homers from
Christiana Skrabak and Harvey in the bottom of the second tied the score at two. IUP retook the lead in the top of the fifth inning with a single run.
The Crimson Hawks picked up two unearned insurance runs to push their lead to 5-2 in the sixth inning. Skrabak drove in a run in the sixth and then she scored on an error to cut the lead to 5-4.
Perillo and Skrabak each had two hits for the Griffins.
The Griffins will travel to Slippery Rock on Friday afternoon.
