GREENSBURG, Pa. - Ten players scored at least one goal as the Seton Hill University team downed Davis & Elkins, 19-2, in Great Midwest Athletic Conference in men's lacrosse action on a rainy Tuesday afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.
With the win, Seton Hill improves to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in the G-MAC. Davis & Elkins slips to 2-6 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
John Hofseth led the offensive effort for SHU with four goals and one assist.
Jack Moran had three goals while four others -
Brett Craig,
Sean Stanners,
Ethan Quinn, and
Kevin Gillen - added two apiece.
Ryan Hayes,
John Miller,
Shane Pettke, and
Logan Maloni also each came away with goals. Moran, Miller, Maloni, and
Bennett Johnson all chipped in two assists.
Matt O'Dwyer and Kyle Durec had goals for the Senators.
Merritt Bailey had a save and picked up the win for SHU, while Kyle Seago gets the loss.
For the game, Seton Hill put up 61 shots (31 on-goal) compared to just 12 for D&E. Davis & Elkins had 18 turnovers while SHU had 11. The Senator goalies grabbed 12 saves compared to five for the Griffin goalies.
Seton Hill will step out of conference play when they travel to Rochester, NY to take on Roberts Wesleyan College on Saturday, April 1st for a 1:00 PM showdown.
