Seton Hill hosted Tiffin in a nonconference doubleheader on Thursday afternoon. Tiffin scored four times in the sixth of game one for a 4-1 win. The Dragons completed the sweep with a 14-4 win. SHU falls to 4-11.
Tiffin loaded the bases in the top of the third inning with one out. SHU starter
Leighann Pettis was able to get out of the jam with a force out at the plate and a pop up.
The Griffins got a leadoff double from
Christiana Skrabak in the fifth but she was stranded at second base. Tiffin finally got on the scoreboard when they scored 4 runs on 5 hits to take a 4-0 lead.
SHU got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh. Skrabak led off with a single. She moved to third on a double from
Ashley Perillo. Skrabak scored on a single by
Abbie Thrower.
Skrabak led the team with two hits in the contest.
SHU took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Saige Minear drew a leadoff walk. Thrower followed with a double. Abbie Suhoski hit a sacrifice fly and Skrabak knocked in Thrower for a 2-0 lead.
Tiffin got a run back in the top of the second but starter
Mackayla Kroll stranded runners on second and third to keep the score 2-1. The Dragons added three more runs in the top of the third inning to take a 4-2 lead. The Griffins got an unearned run in the bottom of the third to cut the Tiffin lead to 4-3. Tiffin got that run back in the top of the fourth with a solo homer. The Dragons added two more runs in the fifth to increase their lead to 7-3.
After Tiffin scored 7 runs in the seventh,
Allie Harvey drove in a run in the bottom of the inning.
Thrower and Skrabak led the offense with 3 hits.
Brooke Bower added 2 hits.
SHU will take on Salem International on Saturday afternoon.
