The Griffin tennis team split their final four matches to wrap up their spring trip. SHU earned a 8-1 win over Bluefield. They then dropped a 6-3 score to Lindenwood and a 7-2 score to Missouri Western before closing out the trip with a 9-0 win over McDaniel. SHU finished their spring trip 2-5 and are now 6-8 on the season.
Against Missouri Western, the doubles team of
Kaelyn Zak and
Ana Salazar picked up an 8-4 win in doubles.
Jenna Bailey picked up a singles win 6-0, 6-0.
Diana Carvajalino earned two wins against Lindenwood. She teamed with Salazar for an 8-5 doubles win. Diana also won her singles match by the score of 6-2, 6-2.
Madison DeBone picked up a singles win by the score of 5-7, 6-4, 10-7.
The Griffins earned an easy win over Bluefield State. Some of the winners included the doubles team of DeBone and Bailey (8-0) and
Paula Carvajalino who won 6-0, 6-2 in singles.
SHU earned two doubles wins and one forfeit at doubles against McDaniel.
Diana Carvajalino and DeBone won 8-3 while Zak/Salazar won 8-1.
Paula Carvajalino won her singles match 6-4, 6-1. DeBone won her's 6-1, 6-2 while Zak, Bailey and Salazar all won their matches 6-0, 6-0.
SHU returns to action on Sunday when they host Clarion at 7 PM.
