Seton Hill closed out their Florida trip with a pair of games in Clermont, Florida on Friday. The Griffins were swept to close out their spring break trip. SHU lost 2-0 to #24 Wayne State in the morning then closed out the trip with a 4-1 loss to Concordia (Mich). SHU returns home with a 4-9 record.
The Griffins managed just one hit against the #24 Warriors.
Amanda Huff doubled in the second inning for the Griffins lone hit. Wayne State scored both of their runs in the third inning. Huff was the hard luck loser. She just gave up the two runs in four innings.
Concordia opened the scoring with a run in the top of the first inning. SHU got their only run in the fourth but could have had more. After an out,
Christiana Skrabak singled but was caught off first base by the center fielder on a throw behind for the second out of the inning.
Abbie Thrower,
Ashley Perillo and
Paige Hertzog followed with singles with Hertzog's driving in Thrower. Concordia added two in the fifth and one in the seventh for the 4-1 win.
Perillo led the Griffins with 3 hits. Thrower and Hertzog each added two hits.
SHU is scheduled to return to action on Thursday when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan.
