The Griffins closed out their Florida spring break trip with a nine inning contest against PSAC East foe Mansfield.  Mansfield took a 3-0 lead but the Griffins scored the final seven runs for a 7-3 win.  SHU improves to 10-5 on the season and goes 7-2 on the spring trip.
 
The Mounties got a run in the top of the first inning off of three hits to take an early 1-0 lead.  Mansfield added to its lead with two runs in the top of the second inning.  The Griffins got one run back in the bottom of the second inning.  Mark Colella doubled and scored on a single from Tyler Sullivan.
 
SHU took the lead in the bottom of the fourth.  Adam Ferita hit a solo homer with one out to start the scoring.  Bayley Jamanis and Craig Lewis also drove in a run in the inning.  The Griffins added another run in the sixth.  Austin Braendel singled and scored on a double from Jamanis to push the lead to 6-3.  Ryan Wardropper hit a solo homer in the eighth to extend the lead to 7-3.
 
Zack Martinelli earned the win with 7 strong innings.  He only gave up 1 earned run and struck out 6 while walking none.  Don McWreath earned the save with two shutout innings. 
 
Ryan Wardropper, Bayley Jamanis, Mark Colella and Ty Sullivan each had two hits in the win.
 
SHU is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday when they host Malone.
