The Griffins continued their Florida Spring Break trip with a matchup in Winter Park, Florida against the #7 Tars of Rollins. The Griffins got to within two late but could not get any closer in a 9-7 loss. SHU drops to 2-3 on the season. Rollins improves to 7-2 on the season.
Christine Palmeri got the Griffins on the scoreboard first with a free position shot goal just over five minutes into the game. Rollins tied the game at one just a minute later. Rollins scored the next four goals to increase their lead to 5-1 with 7:21 to play in the half, forcing the Griffins to call a timeout. Palmeri's second free position shot goal cut the lead to 5-2 with 4:59 to play in the half. Palmeri's third of the game trimmed the lead to 5-3 with 3:21 left.
Charlotte Cunningham assisted on the goal.
Rollins scored the first three goals of the second half to take an 8-3 lead.
Mackenzie Kilduff and
Katelyn Cressman scored twice within two minutes to trim the lead to 8-5 with 18:53 to play. After Rollins got their final goal of the game with 11:34 to play, Cressman scored her second with 9:14 to play.
Keagan Pontious scored the final goal of the match with 6:57 to play.
