Seton Hill continued its spring trip with a single game against Ohio Dominican in Auburndale, FL at the Lake Myrtle Sports Complex. Ohio Dominican scored three times in the bottom of the eighth for a 10-8 win. SHU falls to 7-5 overall while the Panthers improve to 8-2 overall.
The Griffins got on the scoreboard in the top of the third inning.
Tyler Sullivan was walked and moved to second when
Kailen Grimm bunted him over.
Craig Lewis was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second. After Sullivan was picked off, Lewis stole second. Lewis then scored on a RBI single from
Garret Vrbanic. Ohio Dominican got that run right back in the bottom half of the third inning.
The Panthers scored four runs on five hits in the bottom of the fourth inning to take a 5-1 lead. SHU got two runs back in the top of the fifth inning. Sullivan reached on an error and scored when Lewis hit a bomb to right field and cut the lead to 5-3. Ohio Dominican got those runs back in the bottom of the sixth inning extending their lead to 7-3.
SHU took an 8-7 lead in the top of the seventh inning. The Griffins used four doubles to take the lead.
Adam Ferita and
Mark Colella each had two RBI doubles in the inning.
The Panthers scored three times in their final at bat to take a 10-8 lead.
Craig Lewis led the Griffin offense with 3 hits.
SHU returns to action on Thursday when they take on Wayne State and Ohio Dominican in Auburndale, FL.
