Seton Hill opened it's spring season with a matchup with Alderson Broaddus on Saturday afternoon at the Ridgeview Racquet Club held in Morgantown. The Griffins won all three doubles matches and followed that up with wins in all six singles matches for a 9-0 win over the Battlers. SHU is now 3-1 on the season.
The doubles team of Paula and
Diana Carvajalino won at number one singles by the score of 8-1. The doubles team of
Jenna Bailey and
Madison DeBone took their match by an 8-5 score. The pair of
Ana Salazar and
Kaelyn Zak won their match by an 8-1 score.
The Griffins won all of their singles matches in two sets. Diana won at number one singles 6-4, 6-3. Paula won her match by a 6-2, 6-4 score. DeBone picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win. Bailey was nearly perfect surrendering just one game in a 6-1, 6-0 win. Salazar won her match by a 6-1, 6-3 score and Zak dropped just two games in winning 6-1, 6-1.
SHU returns to action next Saturday when they travel to take on Carnegie Mellon.
