Seton Hill made the trip to East Stroudsburg, PA for a PSAC crossover matchup with the Warriors on Saturday afternoon. East Stroudsburg jumped out to a twenty point halftime lead and cruised to a 109-85 victory over the Griffins. SHU drops to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in PSAC play.
Tyler Bowling answered an East Stroudsburg basket to tie the score at two early in the contest.
Trevor Blondin drilled a three pointer to trim the ESU lead to 10-7. ESU then began to pull away at that point and the Griffins would get no closer than nine points in the half. The Warriors extended their lead to as many as 26 points before settling for a twenty point halftime lead at 52-32.
The Warriors continued to extend their lead in the second half and used a 16-6 run over a three minute stretch to take their largest lead of the game, 84-50, with just over twelve minutes to play in the contest. The Griffins then used a 9-0 run to cut the Warriors lead to 86-62 at the under eight minute media timeout. Casson scored four points during the run and Blondin hit a three.
Trevor Blondin led the Griffin with 21 points and 9 rebounds.
Nathan Davis added 20 points for the Griffins.
Tyler Bowling also reached double figures with 13 points.
Spencer Casson finished with 5 blocks to go over 300 for his career. He's the third PSAC player to hit that mark. He also added 10 points.
SHU will continue action in eastern PA on Sunday afternoon when they take on West Chester at 3 PM.
