Seton Hill opened their home schedule with a matchup with Ohio Dominican on Wednesday evening. The Panthers built a 19 point halftime lead and extended the lead in the second half for a 93-63 victory over the Griffins. Both teams are now 1-2 on the season.
The Griffins took an early 4-2 lead just a minute into the contest off a dunk by Spencer Casson and a layup from Trevor Lecuona. Over the next ten minutes, the Panthers outscored the Griffins 20-10 to take a 22-14 lead midway thru the first half. ODU built their lead to as many as 22 points late in the half before settling for a 45-26 lead at the halftime break.
After Lecuona hit two free throws to open the second half, trimming the lead to 45-28, the Panthers used a 22-8 run to build their lead to 67-36 with twelve and a half minutes to play in the half. The Griffins were able to cut the lead to twenty five points at a few times in the second half but could not get any closer.
Lecuona led the Griffins with 13 points. Trevor Blondin was the only other Griffin in double figures with 10 points. Nathan Davis finished the game with 8 points and Milenko Predic added 6 points. Brandon Alston had a team high 6 rebounds.
