MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Seton Hill University field hockey team fell to PSAC foe, Mansfield University, 3-1, in conference action Saturday at Van Norman Field in Mansfield.
Mansfield got on the board first as Christie Buyer scored in the 20th minute. However, Seton Hill responded with a goal just five minutes later when
Zyah Newsome scored her second goal of the season at the 25:19 mark, and the two teams would go into the break tied at one apiece. It wouldn't take long, however, until Mansfield broke the tie with a goal in the 36th minute to go ahead, 2-1. After the two teams battled for almost 20 minutes, the Mounties would tack on another with a score in the 53rd minute of play on their way to the 3-1 win.
For the match, Seton Hill had 10 shots compared to 33 for Mansfield. Mansfield led the shots on goal with 12, while Seton Hill had seven. The Mounties had 21 penalty corners, and the Griffins had two. The Seton Hill goalies -

Elizabeth Armbruster, and Alexandra Peikarz - all combined for eight saves when it was all said and done. Mansfield's Brittany Ryan made six saves.
Seton Hill travels to Erie, Pa. to take on Mercyhurst University on Wednesday before closing out the 2017 season at home against Bloomsburg University on Saturday, October 28th. Check out the
