Women's Soccer Win Streak Halted At #4 Kutztown

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - Emma Porteous scored in the 33rd minute and the Seton Hill defense blanked Kutztown in the second half, but it wasn't enough to erase the halftime deficit as the Griffins fell to #4 Kutztown University, 3-1, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon at Keystone Field on the campus of Kutztown University.

The Griffins suffer their first loss in the last five matches and now sit at 11-5-1 overall, including a 9-5-1 mark in conference play. Kutztown improves to 14-2 overall and 12-2 in PSAC play.

After giving up three goals in the 24 minutes of the contest, the Griffins finally got on the board when Emma Porteous scored her fourth goal of the season off of a Emma Bearinger assist in the 33rd minute of play. The defensive effort would step up in the second half as the Griffins held the Golden Bears scoreless. However, Seton Hill would struggle along with Kutztown on the offensive end, going scoreless themselves and falling by a score of 3-1.

For the match, Kutztown outshot Seton Hill, 14-8 (9-2 on goal). The Griffins held an 8-6 advantage in corner kicks. Kutztown had five fouls to Seton Hill's four. There we no cards issued in the contest.
