Seton Hill hosted Clarion on Wednesday afternoon in the regular season finale as the Griffins looked to go 10-0 at home on the season. It took the Griffins more than the 90 minutes of regulation to get the win but
Emily LoPresti scored 5:32 into the first overtime period to give the Griffins a 1-0 victory. Seton Hill improves to 12-5-1 overall and 10-5-1 in PSAC play, along with being 10-0 at home. Seton Hill is the only team in the PSAC to be undefeated and untied at home this season.
The first half of the contest saw the Griffins lead in shots by a 7-4 margin. The Griffins managed just one shot on goal.
Jessica Neill made two saves in the half.
Seton Hill totally dominated the shot count in the second half, outshooting the Eagles by an 11-1 margin. Neill made one save in the second half.
In the first overtime period,
Emily LoPresti just missed winning the game just over a minute in but her shot went high. LoPresti ended the game 5:32 into the first overtime period when she blocked a clearance attempt by the Clarion defense and the ball bounced off of her body and rolled into the empty net for the game winner. It was her 16th goal of the season and ninth game winner.
Neill made three saves for her sixth shutout of the season.
