Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

LoPresti's Hat Trick Carries Griffins to Win at UPJ

Emily LoPresti scored her first ever collegiate hat trick in leading the Griffins to a 3-2 win on the road at Pitt Johnstown on Sunday afternoon.  The win is the third in a row for the Griffins as they improve to 10-4-1 on the season and 8-4-1 in PSAC play.

The 10 wins are the most for a Seton Hill women's soccer team since the 2012 team finished with a 10-7-1 record.

LoPresti got things going in the 12th minute.  Hope Creamer sent a long ball from midfield and found LoPresti who beat the UPJ keeper for a 1-0 Griffin lead.  In the 24th minute, Emma Bearinger sprung LoPresti behind the defense with a great pass and Emily made it 2-0 with her second goal of the game.  UPJ cut the lead in half in the 40th minute with a blast from the top of the box.  SHU took the 2-1 lead into the halftime break.  The Griffins held a 11-4 advantage in shots in the half.

Just over three minutes into the second half, the Mountain Cats tied the game with a shot from 30 yards out on a free kick.  LoPresti capped off the scoring in the 58th minute when she finished a pass from Katie Kimmich.  The goal was her 14th on the season and eighth game winner of the season.

Jessica Neill finished the game with 3 saves to earn the win.

SHU returns to action on Wednesday afternoon as they host Edinboro at 3 PM.
