Seton Hill made the short trip to Johnstown on Sunday afternoon to take on Pitt Johnstown in a PSAC matchup. After being held scoreless in the first half, the Griffins scored twice in the second half for a 2-0 victory. SHU improves to 8-6-1 overall and 5-3 in PSAC play while the Mountain Cats drop to 0-12-1 overall and 0-8 in PSAC play.
Neither team was able to get on the scoreboard in the first half but the Griffins held a huge advantage in the shots category in the half. The Griffins outshot the Mountain Cats by an 18-2 margin including a 5-0 advantage in shots on goal.
The Griffins got on the board in the 67th minute.
Lloyd Davies finished a cross from
Alex Dyson to give the Griffins a 1-0 advantage. Just over two minutes later,
Tom Urquhart increased the Griffins lead to 2-0. Dyson and
Henrik Berg each assisted on the Urquhart goal.
For the game, the Griffins held a 37-5 advantage in shots. They also led in shots on goal by a 14-1 margin. SHU also held a 17-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Jacin Smith made one save for his first shutout of the season.
Seton Hill takes a break from PSAC play on Wednesday as they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan.
