Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Griffins Knock off Bloomsburg in PSAC Action

The Seton Hill men's soccer team looked to keep its playoff hopes alive as they hosted Bloomsburg at Dick's Sporting Goods Field on Friday afternoon.  SHU scored twice in the first half and added a second half goal for a 3-1 home victory.  SHU improves to 7-5-1 overall and 4-4 in PSAC play while Bloomsburg drops to 2-9 overall and 0-7 in PSAC action.

Seton Hill wasted little time in getting on the scoreboard in their first half as they scored just 1:11 into the half.  Henrik Berg finished a coner kick from Lloyd Davis to give the Griffins the early 1-0 lead.  Berg added his second of the game in the 23rd minute as he took a pass from Ryan Doyle and beat the keeper one on one for a 2-0 lead.  The Griffins took the 2-0 lead into the halftime break.  SHU held a 10-7 advantage in shots in the half.

Bloomsburg cut the lead to 2-1 just over five minutes into the second half.  The Griffins extended their lead back to two goals in the 73rd minute.  After the Bloom keeper made a save on an Alex Dyson shot, Louis Mason pounced on the rebound and put it into an open net for a 3-1 Griffin lead.

The Huskies held a 13-4 advantage in shots in the second half and a 20-14 advantage in the game.

Jacin Smith finished with 9 saves in net for the Griffins.

SHU returns to action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Pitt Johnstown for another PSAC conference matchup.
