Late Push Falls Short For Women's Soccer Against Mercyhurst

GREENSBURG, Pa. - Seton Hill University women's soccer team fell, 1-0, to Mercyhurst in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's soccer action at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.

The loss drops SHU to 2-4-2 on the season (2-4-2 PSAC). With the win, Mercyhurst improves to 4-3-1 (4-3-1 PSAC).

Mercyhurst's Nicole McAlpin scored the loan goal just a little over eight minutes into the match. Seton Hill goalkeeper Jessica Neill's fantastic save off of a Jinan Abdlah Funes shot ricocheted off of her gloves and right to the feet of Russo for what would become the deciding goal. The Griffins would attempt a late charge in the second half. However, each attempt was thwarted by the Laker defense.

For the match, Mercyhurst outshot Seton Hill, 16-9 (9-4 on-goal). Seton Hill's Jessica Neill was phenominal in the net, grabbing eight saves in the loss. Mercyhurst's Kristen Koch had four saves for the Lakers.
