GREENSBURG, Pa. - Seton Hill University women's soccer team fell, 1-0, to Mercyhurst in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's soccer action at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.
The loss drops SHU to 2-4-2 on the season (2-4-2 PSAC). With the win, Mercyhurst improves to 4-3-1 (4-3-1 PSAC).
Mercyhurst's Nicole McAlpin scored the loan goal just a little over eight minutes into the match. Seton Hill goalkeeper
Jessica Neill's fantastic save off of a Jinan Abdlah Funes shot ricocheted off of her gloves and right to the feet of Russo for what would become the deciding goal. The Griffins would attempt a late charge in the second half. However, each attempt was thwarted by the Laker defense.
For the match, Mercyhurst outshot Seton Hill, 16-9 (9-4 on-goal). Seton Hill's
Jessica Neill was phenominal in the net, grabbing eight saves in the loss. Mercyhurst's Kristen Koch had four saves for the Lakers.
Seton Hill will welcome Mansfield University to Dick's Sporting Goods Field on Friday, September 30th. That match is scheduled for a 2:00 PM start.
