Seton Hill hosted #1 Charleston (WV) on Wednesday afternoon in nonconference action. The Griffins battled and played right with the #1 team in the country until the Griffins were hit with a red card and the Golden Eagles buried the penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead. Charleston added a goal in the second half for the 2-0 victory. SHU is now 2-3 on the season while Charleston improves to 5-0.
Charleston came out of the gates firing, hitting the post less than a minute into the contest and had a shot stopped by Griffin keeper
Austin Iddon just over two minutes in. SHU responded with three shots on goal by

Lloyd Davies and
Curtis Gallagher over the next twenty minutes as they battled the nation's top ranked team. Charleston was able to finally crack the scoreboard in the 32nd minute. SHU was hit by a red card which resulted in a penalty kick. The Golden Eagles buried the penalty kick for the 1-0 lead. UC outshot the Griffins 12-4 in the half but all four Griffin shots were on goal. Iddon recorded 3 saves in the half.
The Golden Eagles increased their lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 61st minute. SHU continued to battle, playing with only 10 men but could not find the back of the net, dropping a 2-0 decision to #1.
Austin Iddon recorded 6 saves in net in the loss.
SHU will return to PSAC action on Saturday when they travel to Bloomsburg.
