Seton Hill hosted Chowan on Sunday afternoon in a nonconference matchup. Chowan took an advantage a Griffin turnover and converted it into a first half goal for the 1-0 victory. SHU falls to 2-2 on the season.
Chowan controlled play early in the first half and had the first three shots of the game. They followed with their fourth shot and capitalized on a Griffin turnover to take a 1-0 lead after picking up a loose ball in the box and putting it into the side netting in the game's 20th minute.
Joe Smith's shot was stopped late in the first half, preserving the Hawks 1-0 lead. Chowan held a 6-3 advantage in shots in the half.
SHU came out firing in the second half and had three shots in a five minute span early in the half. Their best chance was a diving header from
Lloyd Davies off a cross that went over the crossbar. Harrison's Howes header also went high late in the half after a Griffin corner kick.
Seton Hill will take on #2 University of Charleston on Wednesday afternoon.
