SHU Shutout in DH Sweep at Gannon

The Griffins continued PSAC West play in Erie on Friday afternoon with a doubleheader against Gannon.  The Knights shut the Griffins out on the afternoon, sweeping the doubleheader by the scores of 2-0 and 3-0.  SHU falls to 12-22 overall and 5-7 in PSAC West play. 

Gannon took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning after a leadoff triple and RBI single.  The Knights added to their lead in the third and scored on a sacrifice fly to take a 2-0 lead.  Seton Hill threatened in the sixth inning.  Monica Joseph led off the inning with a single.  Abbey Suhoski followed with a single after one out to put runners on first and second.  Erika Arriola pinch ran for Suhoski.  Ashley Perillo singled to load the bases with one out but a strikeout and fly out ended the inning.  Michaela LeDonne led SHU with two hits in game one. 

Seton Hill got two runners on in the top of the first of game one.  Joseph led off with a single and moved to second on a Suhoski single.  The inning ended on a double play.  Gannon then pushed across two runs in their half of the first inning.  The Knights scored thier final run in the bottom of the fourth inning.  SHU managed just three hits in the loss.

SHU returns home for the final home games of the season as they host Slippery Rock on Saturday afternoon.
