The women's lacrosse team began a two game road trip this weekend with a PSAC matchup at East Stroudsburg on Friday afternoon. The Griffins took an early lead in the game and led throughout for the 12-10 road win. SHU improves to 3-7 overall and 2-4 in PSAC action. ESU drops to 9-2 overall and 4-2 in PSAC action.
Seton Hill jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead.
Nicole Nath gave SHU a 1-0 lead and
Emily Fagan followed to give SHU a 2-0 lead less than three minutes into the first half.
Renee Kania and
Alessandra Nicholas followed with goals and SHU led 4-0 just 8 minutes into the contest. Fagan and Nicholas also assisted on one of the first four goals, giving them both two early points. Fagan added her second of the game from
Charlotte Cunningham increasing the SHU lead to 5-1 with just over 13 minutes left in the half.
East Stroudsburg scored the next three goals to cut the SHU lead to 5-4 with just over 3 minutes left in the first half.
Katelyn Cressman scored on a free position shot to give SHU a 6-4 halftime lead.
East Stroudsburg scored the first goal of the second half on a free position shot. Fagan answered with her third of the game to increase the SHU lead to 7-5. Cressman's second of the day put SHU ahead 8-6.
Olivia Canby increased the SHU lead back to 9-7 with 19 minutes to play in the half. Fagan's fourth of the contest put SHU ahead 10-8 with 11 minutes to play in the second half. After an ESU goal, Kania's second gave SHU an 11-9 lead with 6 minutes to play. Nicholas scored the final SHU goal with just under three minutes to play in the game.
Emily Fagan led SHU with 4 goals and 1 assist.
