Seton Hill continued PSAC play on the road at IUP on Tuesday afternoon. The game was tied at three until IUP scored the final six goals of the first half in route to a 13-9 victory over the Griffins. SHU drops to 2-7 overall and 1-4 in PSAC play.
Emily Fagan gave the Griffins a 1-0 lead with a goal seven minutes into the first half. Fagan made it 2-0 with a goal three minutes later on a feed from
Renee Kania. The Crimson Hawks responded with three goals to take a 3-2 lead with 13:28 left in the half. Kania tied the score three on a goal from Fagan with 12:13 to play in the half.
Three minutes later the Crimson Hawks retook the lead at 4-3 on a free position shot. Less than two minutes later, the Hawks scored on another free position shot to take a 5-3 lead. IUP continued its run of goals on free position shots to extend the lead to 6-3 with three minutes left in the half. IUP added three more goals, including two more free position shot to take a 9-3 halftime lead.
Just under three minutes into the second half,
Alessandra Nicholas cut the Crimson Hawks lead to 9-4 with a goal from Fagan. IUP built their lead back up to 11-4 before the Griffins got two goals from Fagan and one from
Katelyn Cressman to cut the Hawks lead to 11-7 with 8:09 to play. After an IUP goal Nicholas scored on a free position shot to cut the lead to 12-7 with 3:31 to play. Fagan scored her fifth of the game to trim the IUP lead to 13-9 with 2:31 to play.
Emily Fagan led the Griffins with 5 goals.
Alessandra Nicholas added 2 goals. Fagan also added 2 assists.
Renee Kania finished the game with a goal and 3 assists.
SHU hits the road this weekend for two PSAC contests. SHU is at East Stroudsburg on Friday and Bloomsburg on Saturday.
