Seton Hill hosted Wheeling Jesuit in a non conference doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon. The Griffins were shutout in game one by the score of 5-0 as Wheeling Jesuit took advantage of four Griffin errors. Wheeling completed the sweep with an 8-3 win. SHU falls to 7-13 overall.
Wheeling scored single runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings to take a 3-0 lead. The Cardinals added two run in the seventh for the 5-0 victory.
Seton Hill took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game two.
Carlee Wickstrom reached on an error and scored on a sacrifice fly by
Abbey Suhoski. Wheeling responded with three runs in their half of the third inning to take a 3-1 lead.
Whheling added four runs in the top of the fourth inning.
Kaitlyn Kutchman hit a solo homer in the bottom of the fourth to cut the Cardinals lead to 7-2.
Monica Joseph singled in
Courtney Hrabosky who doubled in the fifth to trim the lead to 8-3.
Monica Joseph and
Courtney Hrabosky each had two hits in the loss.
SHU opens PSAC West action on Friday when they host Edinboro at 2:30 PM.
