Seton Hill opened up their home part of the schedule by hosting Alderson Broaddus in a non conference doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon. SHU dropped game one by the score of 3-2. SHU earned the split with a 6-1 win in game two. SHU is now 7-9 on the season.
The Griffins got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the second inning.
Paige Hertzog led off the inning with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from
Kaitlyn Kutchman.
Jacqui Palmer then drove in Hertzog with a double to left center field.
Alderson Broaddus took the lead with a two run homer to right field in the top of the fourth. The Battlers added to their lead in the top of the fifth with one run. SHU threatened in the seventh but could not score the tying run. Ashley Perilllo singled to lead off the inning and Hertzog followed with a double to put runners on second and third. After a lineout, Palmer doubled in a run to cut the lead to 3-2 but two groundouts ended the threat.

Jacqui Palmer each had two hits for the Griffins.
The Battlers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning of game two. SHU retook the lead in the bottom half of the inning. Suhoski drew a leadoff walk with
Courtney Hrabosky pinch running at first. After a sac bunt and a strikeout, Kutchman singled to drive in Hrabosky. Palmer then knocked in Kutchman to give SHU a 2-1 lead.
The Griffins extended their lead in the bottom of the third inning on a two run homer by Perillo over the fence in left center field. Kutchman added a run with an RBI single to right to extend the lead to 5-1.
Victoria Stock drove in
Monica Joseph in the fourth inning to push the lead to 6-1.
Tiffany Edwards earned the win in the circle with five strong innings.
Kaitlyn Kutchman and
Jacqui Palmer added 2 hits each.
SHU will travel to Pitt Johnstown on Saturday.
