GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Seton Hill University men's basketball team took an 83-68 victory over California (Pa) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon inside the McKenna Center.
Seton Hill, winners of three straight and five out of their last six, improves to 11-12 overall and 9-10 in the PSAC. California falls to just 7-18 overall and 4-15 in the PSAC.
Trevor Blondin and
Noah Davis scored 25 points apiece to pace Seton Hill. Blondin made 8-of-14 baskets and 4-of-7 from distance. Blondin was a perfect 5-for-5 from the line. Davis, who scored 18 of his 25 points after halftime, hit on 9-of-13 shots from the floor and was 6-of-9 from deep.
Kameron Taylor scored 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting.
Spencer Casson added to his PSAC-Leading total blocks with five. The reshirt-sophomore from Presto, Pa has 78 total blocks on the season and currently leads Division II in blocked shots per game, and is ranked third in total blocks. Seton Hill made a total of 31-of-58 shots, including 12-of-19 from three.
Nick Miller led the Vulcans with 19 points on 7-of-15 from the floor and 3-of-8 from three-point range. Nate Bellhy had 13 points on 4-of-12 shooting, and Tony Richardson came away with 12 points on 5-of-9 to round out the double-digit scoring for California. The Vulcans were 24-of-66 from the floor, including 7-of-28 from long-range.
Seton Hill held a narrow 34-30 margin in points in the paint. Cal scored 12 points off turnovers compared to 11 for SHU. The visitors also held a 14-11 advantage in second-chance points. The Vulcan bench outscored the SHU reserves, 17-10. Seton Hill out-rebounded Cal, 36-33.
Seton Hill will visit Mercyhurst on Feb 17th before visiting Edinboro on Feb 20th. The Griffins return home for their final game of the regular season on Feb 24th when they welcome Indiana University of Pennsylvania to the McKenna Center for a 7:30 PM tip-off.
