LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Seton Hill University men's basketball team suffered a 94-77 setback at the hands of Lock Haven University on Sunday afternoon at the Thomas Fieldhouse at Lock Haven University.
The loss drops SHU to 2-2 on the season, 1-1 in PSAC play. Lock Haven improves to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in conference action.
A close one throughout, the game featured 10 ties and 19 lead changes. The final lead change came early in the second half. After
Fernando Salsamendi's three regained the lead for SHU, 52-51, with 16:01 showing in the clock, Lock Haven would grab the lead less than one minute later and go on a 21-11 run over the next nine minutes to claim the games first double-digit lead (74-63) with 7:22 remaining in the game. That proved to be the cushion the Bald Eagles needed as they would hold the Griffins at bay en route to the 94-77 win.
Noah Davis led Seton Hill with 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting, including 2-of-6 from deep and 4-of-5 from the line.
Brandon Alston scored 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting, and
Spencer Casson rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points on 4-of-5 from the floor.
Trevor Lecuona paced SHU's rebounding effort with seven.
As a team, SHU made 29-of-64 shots, including just 6-of-23 from the three-point line. The Griffins were 13-for-20 from the charity stripe.
Seton Hill returns to the hardwood on Tuesday when they welcome Lake Erie College into the McKenna Center. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
