Seton Hill looked to run its winning streak to three games with a PSAC contest on the road at Shippensburg on Wednesday afternoon. The Griffins scored a goal late in the first half for the 1-0 victory. SHU is now 7-4 overall and 4-2 in PSAC play while Ship falls to 5-6 overall and 2-5 in PSAC action.
The Griffins totally dominated the first half of action as they outshot the Raiders by a 12-0 margin in the half. SHU was able to get on the scoreboard in the 42nd minute of the game.
Rory McKinnon took a pass from
Louis Mason and put one in off the right post to give the Griffins a 1-0 lead right before the halftime break.
Ship fought back and put up a fight in the second half but could not beat Griffin keeper
Austin Iddon. SHU held a 11-6 advantage in shots in the second half.
Iddon recorded 3 saves for the shutout win. McKinnon finished the game with 7 shots, 4 on goal.
Curtis Gallagher added 4 shots including three on goal.
The Griffins outshot the Raiders 23-6 (11-3 on goal) but Ship held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.
SHU will continue PSAC play with another road contest at Gannon on Saturday afternoon.
