GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Seton Hill University women's field hockey team defeated the Mercyhurst Lakers, 1-0, in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.
The win boosts SHU's record to 3-14 (1-8 PSAC). Mercyhurst falls to 2-14 (2-8 PSAC).

Dominique Cappello open after a penalty corner and Cappello's shot was true to put the Griffins up, 1-0, just five minutes into the second half. Mercyhurst went on to press the matter on the offensive end, putting up a total of 17 shots with 10 of those being on-goal. However, goalkeeper
Jane Eberhardt was there all 10 times to thwart the Laker attack as the Griffins held on for the win.
For the game, Mercyhurst University outshot Seton Hill, 21-5 (10-5 on-goal). Mercyhurst held a 12-7 advantage in penalty corners, 11-4 in the second half. SHU's
Jane Eberhardt picked up the win, registering all 10 of her saves in the second half. Sam Takac had four saves in the loss for Mercyhurst.
Seton Hill will close out the regular season on Saturday, October 29th when they welcome West Chester University to Dick's Sporting Goods Field. The game, which is scheduled for an 11:00 am start, is also designated as this year's Senior Day.
