Men's Soccer Clinches Playoff Spot In 2-1 Win Over Millersville

GREENSBURG, Pa. - Curtis Gallagher and Rory McKinnon both scored in a 2-1 win over Millersville University in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on a rainy Saturday afternoon at Dick's Sporting Goods Field. With the win, Seton Hill clinches a playoff spot in the PSAC tournament. 

The win boosts Seton Hill's record to 10-6-0 overall and 7-3-0 PSAC. Millersville falls to 10-4-2 overall and 5-3-2 in conference play.

Seton Hill's Curtis Gallagher got the Griffins on the board first in the 33rd minute of the game, rebounding a saved shot from Lous Mason and finding the bottom left corner of then net. In the second half, Rory McKinnon pushed the lead out to 2-0 when the senior from Paisley, Scotland bested the keeper off of a Tom Urquhart assist. Millersville did score in the 71st minute. However, it was too little and eventually too late as Seton Hill held on for the 2-1 victory. 

For the game, Seton Hill outshot Millersville by an oustanding 21-6 margin (10-3 on-goal) margin. Millersville edged SHU in corner kicks, 9-7. Seton Hill was flagged for being offsides on six occasions compared to just once for the Marauders.

Seton Hill's Austin Iddon picked up the win with two saves and one goal-against in the 90 minutes played for the Griffins. Darian McCauley grabbed eight saves while giving up two goals in the loss for Millersville.

The Griffins will step out of PSAC play to visit Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV on Monday, October 24th before closing out the regular season on Saturday October 29th against West Chester. That game is scheduled for a 2:30 PM start and is designated as the Pink Game and Senior Night.
