The Griffins took a short trip down the road to St. Vincent College where they lost 6-3 to a tough West Chester University team on a beautiful autumn day.
The Carvajalino sisters, Paula and Diana, kicked off the day at 11 AM with a doubles match. They lost 8-4 to two talented Golden Rams players, Uhle and Shaak, who were the PSAC Championship runner-ups just last weekend. Next up at #2 doubles was
Madison DeBone and
Jenna Bailey. Unfortunately they lost a close match by the score of 8-6 to Rylee Power and Gracyn Towler. The last doubles match of the day featured
Ana Salazar and
Alisha Torretti from SHU and the team did not disappoint giving the Griffins their first win of the day 8-4 over Sophie Rathmell and Alyssa Rees.
In singles, Seton Hill freshman
Diana Carvajalino beat senior Claire Uhle in a long grueling match by the score of 6-1, 6-7 (9-11), 10-1 to give the Griffins their second point.
Freshman
Jenna Bailey lost her match against senior Maddy Shaak 6-3, 6-2.
Senior Paula Caravajalino lost her match to sophomore Rylee Power 7-5, 6-3.
At #4 singles sophomore
Madison DeBone won her match 6-4, 6-3 against senior Abriana Nolan to give the Griffins their third point.
In a battle of freshmen,
Ana Salazar lost her match against Sophie Rathmell 6-4, 6-1.
In the last match of the day senior
Alisha Torretti lost her match against senior Stephanie Cifarelli 6-1, 6-2.
Seton Hill finishes the fall season 2-1 and 0-1 in the PSAC. They will return to action in the spring semester.
