The Griffins returned home to take on Slippery Rock on Wednesday afternoon. SHU rallied to tie the score at one in the first half but the Rock added two more goals for a 3-1 win. SHU drops to 2-11 overall and 0-5 in PSAC play. The Rock is now 5-8 and 2-4 in PSAC action.
Despite Seton Hill controling play in the early part of the contest, the Rock was able to finish a cross in front of the cage and take a 1-0 lead. Seton Hill responded a few minutes later with a goal from
Molly Childress to tie the score at one. Childress knocked in a pass from
Alesha Herman to know the score at one with about 15 minutes to play in the first half. The Rock retook the lead just under five minutes later. SRU jumped on a loose rebound and put it into the cage to take a 2-1 lead into the halftime break. SHU and the Rock each had 6 shots in the first half.
The Rock scored the lone goal in the second half on a penalty stroke with less than eight minutes to play.
Jane Eberhardt made 9 saves in the cage.
Seton Hill returns to action on Saturday as they hit the road to take on East Stroudsburg.
