Griffins Suffer Shootout Loss to Queens

Seton Hill took a break from PSAC play on Tuesday afternoon with a neutral site game against Queens University at Millersville.  Each team scored first half goals and did not score again sending the game to a penalty shootout to decide the winner.  SHU went 0-5 in the penalty shootout while Queens scored on their fourth attempt for a 2-1 win.  SHU drops to 2-10 after the loss while Queens improves to 5-5.

Queens took a 1-0 lead in the 15th minute when they intercepted a pass, dribbled upfield and scored with a shot from the right side.  Less than eight minutes later the Griffins tied the score at one.  Ashley Curnow followed up a shot by Dominique Cappello to tie the score at one.  Queens held a 9-6 advantage in shots in the first half.

Neither team was able to score in the second half as Queens outshot the Griffins by a 10-7 margin.  Both keepers played really well as they combined for 13 saves in the half.  The teams were even with 4 shot each in the first overtime period with neither team scoring.  Both teams managed two shots in the second overtime period with no goals sending the game into a penalty shootout.

Seton Hill went 0-5 in the penalty shootout with Queens scoring on their fourth attempt for the win.

Jane Eberhart recorded 14 saves in cage.  Dominique Cappello finished with 5 shots while Jaydyn Morrison added 4 shots.
