Seton Hill took a break from conference play for a non conference matchup at Salem International on Monday afternoon. SHU took a four game winning streak into Catalano Stadium but gave up two second half goals to end the winning streak following a 2-1 loss to the Tigers. SHU falls to 8-5 while Salem improves to 3-6-1 on the season.
The first half did not see much offense as both teams were held scoreless with each team managing just 2 shots. SHU held a 2-1 advantage in corner kicks in the half.
Curtis Gallagher got the Griffins on the scoreboard just over five minutes into the second half.
Tom Urquhart hit Gallagher with a pass across the box with Gallagher beating the SIU keeper to give the Griffins a 1-0 lead. Salem tied the game at one in the 74th minute after a misplay by the keeper led to a goal. The Tigers scored the game winning goal with just over eight minutes to play on a rebound shot.
SHU held an 11-8 advantage in shots and 5-4 advantage in corner kicks.
Seton Hill returns to conference play on Saturday at East Stroudsburg.
