Seton Hill made the short trip to Johnstown, PA to battle the Mountain Cats in a PSAC battle on Tuesday afternoon. Seton Hill scored three goals in an eight minute span to come away with a 3-1 victory in a dominant performance on a rainy pitch. SHU improves to 3-5-1 overall and 1-2 in PSAC play.
The Griffins were able to dominate play in the first half, holding a 10-1 advantage in shots, but were unable to find the back of the net. UPJ had the first shot of the period at the 1:18 mark but the Griffins held the Mountain Cats shotless the rest of the period while firing 10 of their own. Seton Hill was finally able to crack the scoreboard in the 72nd minute.
Seon Ripley finished
Louis Mason's through ball and beat the keeper to give SHU a 1-0 lead. Just over three minutes later,
Tom Urquhart made it 2-0 with a goal from Ripley and
Colin Watson. SHU scored their final goal of the contest at the 79:16 mark of the game as
Joe Smith finished an Urquhart cross. UPJ got on the scoreboard late with an own goal.
SHU finished the game with a 20-5 advantage in shots.
Cameron Evans recorded one save in net.
SHU will travel to Lock Haven on Saturday evening.
