Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

WSOC: Griffins Fall At Mercyhurst, 3-1

Erie, P.A. - The Seton Hill University women's soccer team fell on the road to Mercyhurst, 3-1, in PSAC action on Saturday afternoon at the MU Soccer Field.

The Griffins fall to 3-5 (3-5 PSAC) for the 2015 season while Mercyhurst improves to 3-3-2 (3-3-2 PSAC).

SHU started the game off on a high note when Emily LoPresti (Petrolia, PA) stole the ball inside the Laker defense and found a wide open net in just the 10th minute for her 5th goal of the season to give Seton Hill a 1-0 early lead. The two teams would battle throughout the half until MU's Kristina Roberti dribbled pass the Griffin defense in the 43rd minute to tie the game at 1-1 going into the break.

It was all Mercyhurst in the second half as the Lakers' scored in the 54th and 74th minutes and used a staunch defensive effort to keep the Griffins off the board en route to a 3-1 win.

For the match, the Griffins were outshot by an 18-9 margin (9-3 on-goal). Mercyhurst also held an 8-3 advantage in Corner Kicks. Carolin Edenhofner grabbed six saves in 90:00 played in the net for SHU.

Seton Hill University will look to get back on track on Tuesday, September 29th when they welcome Malone University to Dick's Sporting Goods Field. The non-conference showdown is set for 4:00 PM. Follow along with Live Stats HERE.
