Box Score The Griffin softball team ventured to where no other SHU softball team has ever been on Sunday afternoon as they played in their first NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship game in school history. SHU took on #2 seed WV Wesleyan. WV Wesleyan eliminated the Griffins with a 10-2 win in the regional final. SHU ends the season with a 33-15-1 mark. The Bobcats advance to the NCAA Atlantic Regional Super Regional.
Carlee Wickstrom led off the game with a single but the Griffins were held scoreless in the top of the first.
Victoria Stock hit into a fielders choice for the first out. A fly out and a ground out ended the SHU inning. WV Wesleyan got a leadoff double in their half of the second but
Christine Henderson stranded the runner at third with a strikeout to end the inning. WV Wesleyan got on the board in the bottom of the second inning. Their first two hitters singled and they got a huge two out, two RBI single to give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead after two innings. Wickstrom got a two out single in the third but was stranded at first base.
WV Wesleyan plates 5 runs in the bottom of the third to take a 7-0 lead on the Griffins. SHU scored twice in the top of the fourth inning. After a flyout,
Ashley Perillo and
Amanda Huff singled. Following a fielders choice,
Jacqui Palmer singled to drive in Perillo.
Caitlin Tobin followed with an infield single that scored another run. WV Wesleyan answers with two runs in the bottom of the fourth to increase their lead back to 9-2 after four innings. Wesleyan ended the game with a run in the bottom of the fifth for the 10-2 win.
Carlee Wickstrom went 2-3 in the loss.

Caitlin Tobin each drove in runs.
