Seton Hill continued play in the 2026 PSAC Tournament with a trio of elimination contests on Thursday at Grand Slam Park in Binghamton, NY.
Seton Hill defeated CalU 9-1 in five innings in their first elimination contest of the day. The Griffins then defeated Shepherd 4-2 in the second elimination contest of the day. The run came to an end with a 9-2 loss to West Chester in the Griffins third elimination contest of the day. SHU ends the season with a 26-25 overall record.
The Griffins took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning. With one out,
Kassidy Wittig was hit by a pitch. She moved to third on two wild pitches and scored on a sacrifice fly from
Shelby Telegdy.
SHU added two more in the third. With two outs, Wittig drew a walk. Telegdy doubled to put runners at second and third.
Lacey Lynn followed with a two RBI double to give SHU a 3-0 lead. Cal got one of those runs back in the bottom of the third.
Seton Hill continued to add on in the fifth.
Abby Dejidas singled and moved to second on an error with one out. Wittig singled to score Dejidas and give SHU a 4-1 lead. Wittig stole second and scored on a Telegdy RBI single. Lynn singled to put runners on first and third and
Taylor Schmitt made it 6-1 with an RBI single.
Angelina LaMarca reached on a bunt single as the Griffins loaded the bases.
Abby Smearman was hit by a pitch to push the lead to 7-1.
Skylah Steban also was hit by a pitch to force in a run and make it 8-1. LaMarca scored when
McKenna DeUnger reached on a fielders choice as the Griffins led 9-1.
Telegdy, Lynn, Schmitt and LaMarca each had two hits for the Griffins. Telegdy and Lynn each knocked in a pair. Lynn earned the win in the circle with a complete game effort.
The Griffins took a 3-0 lead over Shepherd in the first inning of their second elimination contest of the day. With one out, Wittig homered to put the Griffins on the scoreboard. Telegdy and Schmitt singled to put two runners on. LaMarca doubled in a pair of runs as the Griffins took a 3-0 lead.
Shepherd trimmed the lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning. SHU got that run back in the top of the sixth with a leadoff solo shot from Telegdy.
Telegdy led the offense with two hits. She also earned the win in the circle.
West Chester scored three times in the top of the first inning but the Griffins responded with two of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Dejidas singled to lead off the half. Wittig walked. Telegdy followed with an RBI single. Lynn reached on a fielders choice with Wittig scoring to make it 3-2.
The Golden Rams added single runs in the fourth and fifth to increase their lead to 5-2. West Chester added four more runs in the sixth to push their lead to 9-2.
Telegdy led the Griffins with two hits and an RBI. Lynn also drove in a run.
