Box Score 2 The Griffin softball team took a ten game winning streak on the road with them to Clarion for a PSAC West doubleheader on Sunday afternoon. Seton Hill extended their winning streak to 12 games with a sweep of the Golden Eagles. SHU took game one by the score of 8-1 and completed the sweep with a 10-2 win in game two. SHU improves to 27-8-1 overall and 19-6-1 in PSAC play.
Seton Hill took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning of game one.
Ashley Perillo and
Kaitlyn Kutchman opened the inning with back to back singles. After a sac bunt from
Lauren Sauerwein,
Paige Hertzog singled to score Perillo and Kutchman. SHU added two more runs in the third inning.
Carlee Wickstrom and
Victoria Stock singled to lead off the inning. After a foul out, Wickstrom scored on a sac fly from Perillo and Kutchman drove in Stock with a double. Clarion got one run back in the bottom of the third. SHU added an unearned run in the fourth to take a 5-1 lead. SHU capped off the scoring with three runs in the fifth.
Christine Henderson walked and Perillo singled. Sauerwein then hit a three run homer to give SHU the 8-1 lead.
Christine Henderson earned her 10th victory of the season with a complete game four hitter. She gave up just 1 run while striking out 7.
Ashley Perillo and
Kaitlyn Kutchman each had two hits.
Seton Hill scored twice in the top of the first inning of game two. After an out, back to back doubles from
Victoria Stock and
Christine Henderson gave the Griffins a 1-0 lead.
Lauren Sauerwein then drove in Henderson for a 2- 0 lead.
Delaney Cortazzo singled to lead off the second. Caitin Tobin had a sacrifice bunt and then
Carlee Wickstrom followed with an RBI single. Three straight singles
Ashley Perillo, Sauerwein and
Paige Hertzog resulted in three runs in the third inning. Tobin's sac fly increased the SHU lead to 7-0. Clarion got on the board in the bottom of the third. RBI singles from Stock and Perillo increased the SHU lead to 9-2 in the sixth. Wickstrom knocked in
Kaitlyn Kutchman who doubled for the Griffins final run.
Amanda Huff earned the victory in the circle. She went 5 innings, giving up 2 runs (1 earned) on 4 hits while striking out 6.
Kaitlyn Kutchman threw two scoreless innings of relief.
Carlee Wickstrom led the offense with 3 hits.

SHU will travel to Indiana (PA) on Tuesday for a PSAC West doubleheader.
