Box Score 2 Seton Hill battled first year program Pitt Johnstown on the road at Richland Elementary School on Saturday afternoon in a PSAC West Doubleheader. The Griffins saw their winning streak run to 10 games with a sweep of the Mountain Cats. SHU defeated UPJ 3-1 in game one and completed the sweep with a 10-1 victory in 5 innings over the Mountain Cats in game two. The Griffins are now 25-8-1 overall and 17-6-1 in PSAC West play.
The Griffins got on the board in game one in the top of the first inning.
Carlee Wickstrom singled to lead off the game and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from
Victoria Stock. Wickstrom moved to third on a passed ball and scored when
Christine Henderson grounded out. Pitt Johnstown tied the score at one with a one out solo homer to left center in the bottom of the second. The score remained 1-1 until the top of the seventh inning.
Amanda Huff drew a one out walk.
Erika Arriola then doubled to move Huff to third. Wickstrom then reached on a fielders choice to load the bases. Stock then came thru with a clutch two RBI double to give the Griffins a 3-1 lead. After a leadoff walk in the bottom of the seventh, Henderson relieved starter
Kaitlyn Kutchman. Henderson got two strikeouts and a ground out to earn the save.
Kaitlyn Kutchman earned the victory, going 6+ innings. She gave up 1 run on 5 hits. Kutchman struck out 10 hitters.
Christine Henderson earned her third save.
Victoria Stock was 3-3 with the game winning double in the seventh inning.
Seton Hill scored five times in the top of the first of game two.
Carlee Wickstrom singled to open the game and moved to second on a bunt single from
Victoria Stock.
Christine Henderson then gave the Griffins a 1-0 lead with a single up the middle.
Ashley Perillo followed with a 2 RBI double to increase the lead to 3-0.
Kaitlyn Kutchman singled and
Paige Hertzog scored both Perillo and Kutchman with a 2 RBI triple. SHU added three more in the second. Wickstrom reached on an error and scored when Stock singled. Back to back RBI doubles from Perillo and Kutchman increased the SHU lead to 8-0. Pitt Johnstown scored their lone run of the game in the bottom of the third. Hertzog singled in Kutchman who doubled in the top of the fourth. SHU added their final run in the top of the fifth.
Hope Pehrson earned the win, going the first three innings. She gave up the 1 run on 4 hits and struck out 2.
Amanda Huff threw two scoreless innings and struck out 4.
Kaitlyn Kutchman was 3-3.

SHU continues PSAC West action on Sunday when they travel to Clarion for a doubleheader.
