Box Score Greensburg, PA- The No.18 Seton Hill University women's lacrosse team defeated Shippensburg University 17-5 on Friday evening at Dick's Sporting Goods Field. The Griffins are now 6-1 overall and 3-0 in PSAC play.

Shippensburg started the game with the first goal seven minutes in, to take a one-goal lead. Seton Hill then went on a six-goal scoring run with three goals from
Emma Simmers, a pair from
Christine Palmeri, and a goal from
Emily Fagan.

The Griffins headed into halftime with an eight-goal lead, with a score of 11-3.

Two more Griffin goals early in the second half by
Renee Kania and
Alessandra Nicholas put on the running clock for the remainder of the match.

Shippensburg was able to score just twice in the entire second half.
Keagan Pontious and
Charlotte Cunningham also contributed goals in the second half. Seton Hill won with a score of 17-5.

Simmers scored 6 goals on only 7 shots taken. She also added 2 groundballs, 2 caused turnovers, and 5 draw controls. Kania scored double-digits with 1 goal and an impressive 9 assists. Nicholas had a big day as well, she scored a goal and added 3 groundballs and 5 caused turnovers playing at the midfield position.

The Griffins won the draw control battle by winning 15-out-of-22 (68.2%).
Emma Simmers and Pontious won five draws each.

Meghan Hollar played the entire 60 minutes and made 7 saves in net. Hollar and the Griffin defense held the Raiders to only three goals out of a total 10 free position shots Shippensburg took during the game.
