Box Score 2 The softball team continued its Spring Break trip with a pair of games in Myrtle Beach on Wednesday. SHU dropped the first game of the day to LeMoyne by a 2-1 score before rallying for a 4-2 victory over Union College. SHU is now 5-2 on the season.
LeMoyne took a 2-0 lead with two runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Amanda Huff doubled with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to get a rally going.
Paige Kovalchik ran for Huff and scored when
Ashley Perillo doubled. The game ended with a groundout to second base.
Christine Henderson added a triple. Huff suffered the loss and struck out 6.
Hayley Morgan earned the win in the Union victory. She gave up 4 hits and struck out 1.
Christine Henderson threw three shutout innings for the save. She struck out 5 and did not give up a hit.
Carlee Wickstrom homered and drove in two.
Paige Hertzog and Henderson were 2-3.
SHU will close out the Myrtle Beach trip with one more game with LeMoyne on Wednesday at 4 PM. The Salem Tournament this weekend has been postponed.
