GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Seton Hill University men's basketball team fell in their 2015-16 home opener to Bloomsburg University, 88-74, in PSAC Crossover action on Saturday, November 21st at the McKenna Center.
The Griffins fall to 0-2 (0-1 PSC). Bloomsburg improves to 2-1 (1-0 PSAC).
SHU was led by
Kameron Taylor's 30 points on 13-of-19 shooting, including a three pointer and 3-for-4 from the charity stripe.
Trevor Blondin rounded out the double-digit scorers for Seton Hill with 20 points on 8-of-12 from the floor and 2-of-5 from distance. Taylor led the Griffin effort on the boards with eight rebound. Bloomsburg's Christian Mortellite led all scorers with 31 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including a 4-of-8 performance from long range and 13-of-15 from the charity stripe. Malik Sneed grabbed seven rebounds in the win for Bloomsburg.
As a team, SHU shot 30-of-57 (52.6%) from the floor, 7-of-19 (36.8%) from distance, and just 7-of-19 (58.3%) from the free throw line. Bloomsburg shot 27-of-52 (51.9%) from the floor, 8-of-18 (44.4%) from three point land, and 26-of-34 (76.5%) from the free throw line.
A close game throughout, neither team held a double-digit lead until Bloomsburg grabbed a 72-61 lead with 7:27 remaining in the second half. Seton Hill University would continue to battle and go on a 10-5 run to get to within six (77-71) with 3:03 on the clock. However, the Huskies would hit all of their late foulshots en route to an 88-74 win.
Seton Hill University will not wait long to take to the hardwood again as they welcome East Stroudsburg University into the McKenna Center on Sunday, November 22nd. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM. Live Stats will be available
