Jharrin Gill hit two free throws to open the second half scoring.  Salem International then went on a 5-0 run to build their largest lead of the game at 37-30 with 8:27 to play in the third quarter.  Two free throws from Lindsey Mifsud and baskets from Kaufman and Alexandria Deep cut the SIU lead to 37-36 midway through the third quarter.  Following a SIU layip, Torris hit her second three of the contest to tie the score at 39.  Torris followed that with another three pointer to give the Griffins the lead and SHU would never look back.  SHU led 46-40 after three quarters of play.

Salem was able to trim the lead to three points twice in the fourth quarter, the last at the 4:38 mark with SHU leading 51-48.  Mariah Wells then hit a three and Alexandra Hay followed with a layup to push the lead nack to 56-50 with 3:32 to play.  Back to back buckets from Wells extended the SHU lead to 60-52 with 2:23 to play.  SHU then scored the final five points of the contest for the 65-52 win.
