Seton Hill made the short trip to the Bluff to take on Duquesne in an exhibition contest on Friday evening.  The game was the season opener for the Dukes but was just the final exhibition contest for the Griffins.  The Dukes took a 45-28 halftime lead and opened their season with a 96-71 victory over the Griffins. 

Duquesne scored the first four points of the contest but back to back buckets from Trevor Blondin and Tyler Bowling tied the score at 4.  Duquesne scored the next 16 points to build their lead to 20-4 with just over 10 minutes to play in the first half.  SHU answered with a 9-0 run to trim the lead to 20-13 with 8:30 left in the half.  Three pointers from Noah Davis and Sean Downes cut the lead to six points.  The Dukes extended their lead to 45-23 with less than a minute to play in the half but a basket from Bowling and a three pointer from Zach Herman cut the lead to 45-28 at the half.

The Dukes built their lead to 25 points at 63-38 with 14:30 to play in the second half.  Back to back threes from Trevor Lecuona and Davis cut the Dukes lead back to 15 at 65-50 with just under 12 minutes to play.  That would be as close as the Griffins would get as the Dukes built their lead up to as many as 25 points in route to the 96-71 victory.

Noah Davis led the Griffins with 15 points.  Tyler Bowling finished with a double double of 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Kameron Taylor also finished with a double double of 12 points and 10 assists.  Trevor Lecuona finished the game with 9 points and 6 assists. 

The Griffins will open their season on Thursday, November 19th when they travel to Lake Erie for a 7 PM start.
